3-Ingredient Homemade Fortune Cookies

- '4 tablespoons salted butter
- melted
- plus more for tin'
- '12 fresh wonton wrappers'
- '12 small strips of paper with handwritten fortunes'
- '2 tablespoons sugar'
- 'A 12-cup muffin tin'
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Lightly grease muffin tin with butter
- Working with one wonton wrapper at a time, place one folded fortune in the center of the wrapper
- Dip your fingers into a small bowl of cool water and lightly wet all four edges of the wrapper
- Fold in half, gently pressing to seal the edges
- Fold ends of wrapper toward each other to create the shape of a traditional fortune cookie
- Working quickly with a pastry brush, generously brush each wonton wrapper with butter on all sides
- Sprinkle each with 1/2 tsp
- sugar, then place in a prepared muffin cup
- Repeat with remaining wrappers
- Bake cookies, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp, 10–12 minutes
- Let cookies cool slightly in tin, then carefully transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely
